What you'll learn in this culinary (meals) class:

Listen. Smell. Touch. Taste.

Engage the Senses on an unforgettable journey.

Dinners in the Dark are multi-course meals eaten while blindfolded. Without sight, diners’ other senses are heightened. Smells, textures and tastes all become more intense. Arrive at our door, don a blindfold and let us take you on an unforgettable ride.

Things to Know:

  • Diners wear comfortable blindfolds throughout the event. The dining room is not dark.
  • Menus are secret until the end of the meal so naturally guests have fun guessing which food and wine is on the plate and in the glass.
  • Any dietary restrictions can be accommodated. When you purchase your tickets, please reach out to CourseHorse for any food allergies, or restrictions.
  • Pricing includes food, wine, tax and gratuity).
  • On arrival, we give you an orientation outside and answer questions before leading you into the dining room with your blindfold on.

Important Note:

Class Price is for One Person only and not per Couple

School Notes:
We don't have any age restrictions on either our classes or events. We take people of all ages, but those under 21 years of age are not allowed to consume wine or any alcoholic beverages.

How many people in a table?
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Hope. However people sign up is how they seat people. They have long tables that are technically communal but they are not packed like sardines at all. :) It feels intimate if it's a date. Hope this helps.

Question from Anonymous
For Dinner in the Dark, what are the menu options?
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi there! None! That's the whole point. Students will list any dietary restrictions but the menu is a secret. Having said that, the menu is not "weird" it's simple farm to table fare. Hope this helps!

Question from Anonymous
Is this available for large group/private parties?
Answer from Priscilla N. Verified Student
It's a small space, but if you book enough in advance, you should be able to get a block of seats for your party. On the night I was there, there was a group of either 6 or 8. For a private party, you should probably call the restaurant in advance to inquire if they can reserve a night just for your party or something.
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi there! Yes, they do. I just need some information from you. I'll send you an email shortly. Thanks!

I loved it all! The sounds the tastes the courses were awesome. I do think some of my food had a touch of cream or something that I listed as a sensitivity, but it was all very tasty. If there was anything about the experience I would change, I’d say that if we are supposed to wait outside in the wintertime, we should know about it so we don’t end up arriving early and waiting so long in the cold. Anyway, thank you Abigail and staff you were all so kind and accommodating!
