  My husband gave me the lovely gift of conversational French lessons with Eva Rosales. I admit that I felt intimidated because I simply have a very high level of French at school and college and I haven't practiced it for many years. Eva immediately put me at ease while keeping our conversations in French. Eva kept a virtual notebook that we shared so I could refer to all the new material between our classes. Eva engaged me in varied conversations about my life, which is much more useful than most subjects we learn in school. Eva also encouraged me to try new ways of phrasing things. I feel that I have grown in vocabulary, confidence as well as grammar thanks to my sessions with Eva, she has a gift for language and interpersonal relationships.

  The class was interesting and low stress. The instructor was friendly and patient. She knew just the right moments to drop in with a helpful tip or correction. She also always provided the reason for the correction.

  J'ai commencé mes leçons avec Eva en décembre pour m'aider à pratiquer la conversation. Eva est gentille, intéressante et une bonne professeure! Je trouve qu'elle est facile à parler. Elle crée une leçon basée sur mes intérêts et les domaines que je veux améliorer. Je me sens bien soutenu et mes compétences en français s'améliorent à chaque fois que nous nous croisons. J'ai hâte de continuer nos leçons.

  Kelsey has been a fantastic teacher! It was a relaxed environment and that really helped me absorb info much faster. Learned very conversational phrases that my French friend was pleasantly surprised when I used some of them on her!

  Pia and Hugo are excellent teachers! They always explained everything clearly and took the time to write everything on the blackboard. Enjoyed the classes immensely! Highly recommended.

  This course was such a pleasure that I looked forward to it each week. I've never had any ability with languages--and was terrified--but this class had me speaking in French right away. The class was small (between 4-6 people each week), which made it very personal. In class we spent time answering questions in French, conversing together, reviewing homework, learning new lessons, and practicing reading comprehension and pronunciation. The instructor, Gregory Rittiner, is smart and funny and an excellent teacher. Il est un professeur merveilleux! Each week he found new ways to get us speaking and practicing what we'd studied, which kept the classes interesting. He supplemented the textbook with additional handouts, including songs and poems, and he made every class lively and fun. There were a lot of laughs. A LOT. But he also challenged us and kept us focussed and on-task. I highly recommend this class and this instructor. J'adore cette classe.

  This class was the perfect introductory! Linda was so great and I had a very good time. So much so I ended up signing up for the 10 week beginner course. Can't wait to start on Monday!

  This class took place on 02/02/2017 and was taught by William. This was a fun class. It seems like a very friendly school and is decorated nicely. I wound up signing up for French 1 with the school and am excited for classes to start.

  The Beginner French Languguage class through City Speakeasy has been wonderful! All of the people there are super friendly. Gregory, my French teacher is awesome! He is very approachable, entertaining and a great teacher. The class is very interactive and it includes a lot of conversations which help to get you out of your comfort zone. I would recommend City Speakeasy to anyone looking for a French Foreign language class in New York City!!!

  I took beginner French at City Speakeasy and Loved it! The class ran at the right speed, I had some fun people in my class who are now my friends, and the absent packet kept me caught up for the 2 classes I had to miss to work.

  faboulous! The teacher, Christelle, is wonderful: enthusiastic, helpful, supportive, etc. I knew no French when I started and after 7 classes I now write a little in French and even speak some as well.
