  • The Best Asian Noodles Dishes

A successful class very well-organized. I enjoyed the class tremendously. We made delicious dishes with Erica, who also threw in some knife skills lessons. The food was wonderful. I enjoyed each dish tremendously. Each dish was packed with layers of flavor and I could not believe that something you normally can only taste in restaurant can be made at home so easily (and if live in small apartments with an annoying smoke detector, Erica showed us how to change the method of cooking but the outcome is just as good). I highly recommend this class. BTW, this is the second class I had with Erica. I loved her way of teaching and helping all students stay engaged within the class. I had a great time chit-chatting with real person in life in this class after three years of pandemic.

This class is amazing!! All the soups were great. The chicken lemongrass soup was a surprise and the hot and sour soup was definitely not your typical hot and sour soup you get from your typical Chinese take out. My absolute favorite is the kimchi jjigae. The flavor is deep but easy to make. The chef was amazing as well. I’ve had him a few times and he makes you feel at ease and gives you random facts and tidbits about the dish. This class is definitely a must, especially around the winter time.

Class was postponed for a week during the pandemic. I could not go due to commitment to other friends but both the instructor and coursehorse personnel made the cancellation and refund process smooth. It was really a cool experience. I do hope that the class will be offered again soon. I really look forward to learning from this class.

Discover the Best Asian Cooking Classes in NYC

New York City is full of Asian restaurants offering food from all over the continent. You are probably familiar with sushi and ramen noodles from Japan, dumplings from China, savory biryani and naan from India, sweet and sour pad Thai, fresh and crunchy Vietnamese salads, and Korean kimchi full of garlic and chili powder. You can learn to make these dishes at home through CourseHorse Asian cooking classes. Choose in-person classes, live online sessions, or book a group event for friends or family.

Why You Should Learn Asian Cooking in NYC

Many people choose to learn Asian cooking because of an interest in the various cultures throughout the continent. Perhaps you want to connect to your heritage and explore the dishes your relatives made when you were young or before you were born. Maybe you want to learn to prepare the dishes you ate when you traveled to a region of Asia, or perhaps you are getting ready to go.

Another reason some people learn Asian cooking is because many of the regional cuisines are easy to adapt to special diets. India has a centuries-old vegetarian tradition and these dishes are easily changed to conform to vegan or gluten-free requirements. Most Asian dishes use less meat, few dairy products, and lots of fresh vegetables, which is generally healthier than a traditional Western diet of meat and potatoes.

Maybe you are interested in Asian cooking classes so you can find a job in a restaurant or start a small business making dumplings or moon cakes. If you’ve always dreamed of selling ramen from a food truck, signing up for an Asian cooking class could get you started on that road.

In-Person Asian Cooking Classes & Schools in NYC

Many different in-person Asian cooking classes are available in New York City if you want to explore this rich area. Indian, Chinese, and Japanese classes are very popular, but you can also find Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, and Filipino cooking classes, too.

The menu includes samosas, a filled and fried dumpling; malai kofta, a spicy dish with cheese and potatoes; aloo gobi, with potatoes, cauliflower, and turmeric; navratan korma, a mixture of vegetables, cashews, cheese, and spices; and vegetable pulao, basmati rice with carrots, onions, cashews, raisins, and spices.

In Delicious Vegan, Gluten-free, Indian Dishes, learn more healthy Indian recipes with Mukti, like okra bhaji, okra with onion, ginger, and tomatoes; baingan bharta, smoked mashed eggplant with spices; chana masala, chickpeas in onions, ginger, garlic, and spices; vegetable pulao, rice with vegetables, and onion pakora, fritters with onions.

Taste Buds Kitchen also offers an Indian cooking class. In Taste of India, participants will learn about Indian spices and how to use them. The vegan menu for this BYOB class includes creating garam masala spice blend to make tofu and chickpea tikka masala, homemade naan, veggie samosas, and spiced basmati rice. Learn to make some popular Chinese Takeout items with Taste Buds Kitchen. The dairy-free menu includes General Tso’s chicken, chicken scallion dumplings with honey soy dipping sauce, and fortune cookies with hand-written fortunes. Bring a friend to this fun BYOB event at Taste Buds Kitchen in Chelsea.

Learn to make Asian Street Foods in this Taste Buds Kitchen class. Street food stalls are famous throughout Asia and this class brings you some popular favorites, including Asian beef tacos with Sriracha crema, vegetable fried rice, quick pickled veggies, and coconut banana rice cakes. This menu is gluten-free.

Home Cooking New York offers a Ramen Workshop to teach you to make this delicious Japanese noodle dish at home. You will learn to make your own fresh noodles, miso ramen broth, crispy pork belly, soy-marinated eggs, marinated tofu, and spicy cucumber salad. You’ll never reach for that plastic-wrapped packet again!

In The Best Asian Noodles Dishes from Home Cooking New York, you can learn to make well-known noodle dishes from throughout the continent, including pad Thai, Vietnamese rice noodle salad, Japanese miso sesame noodles, and Korean japchae, which are sweet potato glass noodles with seasoned vegetables.

Southeast Asian Flavors: Thai and Vietnamese presents the mix of hot, sour, sweet, and salty flavors that this area is known for to students in New York. Southeast Asian cuisine is built on fresh herbs, spicy chilies, and crunchy vegetables, along with rice, noodles, and a hint of meat.
