What you'll learn in this baking class:

Are you an aspiring baker? Learn the tricks of the trade and fill your kitchen with the smells of freshly baked bread. Our Bread Baking Basics class is great for beginning and intermediate bakers, and talks about each ingredient’s purpose in dough. Join us for a weekday or weekend class!

In this hands-on class, you will become familiar with and experience the ten steps of bread making. From selecting your ingredients and kneading your dough by hand, to shaping and baking; you will be present for the entire process.

In this three hour class, you’ll learn the ten steps of bread baking, from ingredient selection to kneading, shaping and baking. We’ll work with two basic dough recipes to create a classic baguette, mini baguettes, chocolate & cheese-filled rolls and fruit & nut whole wheat batards!
School Notes: Please make sure to arrive 5-10 minutes early to class as we start right on time. In addition, please walk directly into the bakery and not the restaurant.
If you must cancel or reschedule class please email [email protected] as soon as possible. - At least two weeks withdrawal notice required for full refund. - Class credit for notice given 3-13 days before scheduled class date (student can attend class at a later date, when there is space available). - No refund or credit for notice given 72 hours or less before scheduled class date.

Positive: Teacher cares that you like the class and had good energy. Class is set up so you get to taste s lot of bread at end, which is a fun finale. Negative/ possible improvement areas: -Would have been good to get the recipes printed and given to you during the class since goal of class is to feel like you can go home and be a better bread baker. They get emailed later if you ask for them but during the cjass I felt worried that I would forget all the info. I would have wanted to take notes, or to just have the papers in front of me so that I knew I didn't need to take notes. -I was hoping to be given tips on were to buy ingredients. -The bread you bake is delicious but has a component in it that is hard to replicate because you need to add aged dough, so it felt a little discouraging to know whatever I do at home will not be able to taste as good as what we learned to create. -summary: I left feeling entertained and that the class was interesting and fun, but low in confidence that I could do much with what I learned when I got home. These are easy fixes to make, so I give the class a 4.

I've been baking breads on my own for awhile, but wanted to actually get some instruction. I really got a lot out of this class and loved the instructor! Also came home with a massive amount of bread (my friends and neighbors thanked me). Planning on doing Part 2.
