Really fun, food turned out amazing
  • Virtual Tasting: Beers Around the Virtual World

    Anonymous • August 2, 2020
Eric’s Virtual Beers Around the World class was awesome. For starters, he picked an awesome variety of beers. I drink a lot of beer, visit a lot of breweries and beer shops, but it was great to be (re-)introduced to some styles that are easy to forget and appreciate when you lean towards IPAs and there are so many to try these days. The beers were great and he also had good reason to choose each, so the background story on each was informative. And of course, he found a way to fit my juicy IPA preferences into the mix. Judging by my girlfriend’s experience, the class is great for the non-beer enthusiast as well. Looking forward to doing another class tailored to other beer interests with Eric and some friends who are into beer.

    Emily G. • January 22, 2019
This class was so fun! We learned some new skills and even some interesting food facts. Both my husband and I were engaged but relaxed and the food was delicious. The environment was encouraging but not strict, AND they didn't try to sell us things at the end like other cooking classes. The teacher was great, informative and kept things moving without feeling rushed. Overall we give it a 5/5, thanks! The only thing I would say is... I wished it started a LITTLE earlier, but we are parents and staying out until 11 on a work night was big for us haha. Thank you Taste Buds!!

We loved several of the cheese enough to drop some serious $$ for our supply afterwards in the cheese shop. Go and have a good time

I highly recommend this class for anyone who is into beer or just looking for something fun to do. Class was held in a middle of a beer shop/bar in LES. The background noise and activity added to the energy without it being too distracting. The instructor, Josh, was an excellent balance of entertaining and incredibly knowledge. I was also impressed w/ the value. Over the course of the 1.5hr class, you taste 12 beers, many of which are fairly expensive or super difficult to get in the states. I've taken a ton of tasting classes on CourseHorse (not a lush, I swear!) and I think this one is my favorite. Can't wait to take my next class w/ Josh

Soma's Root Beer class was lots of fun. We learned about the history of root beer, learned that it's not made from just one plant/root, even learned how to spell Sarsparilla. We sampled homemade root beer, commercial root beers (with labels hidden) to determine what each individual liked and didn't like. They we teamed up and made our own concentrate to take home. Only suggestion is that Soma's powerpoint is made available to attendees.

  • Beer Basics

    Elizabeth E. • November 15, 2016
We ended up being the only two people in the course, which made for a very intimate session! Max was very friendly and knowledgeable, and gave us a generous and varied selection of beers -- and even opened another bottle at the end when we asked about a specific kind of ale. Only concern would be the place is pretty small, so if the class had been full, I'm not sure how everyone would have fit comfortably. But definitely a good deal for the price and we'd definitely recommend it!
  • Ciders & Sliders

    Stephanie A. • October 27, 2016
Absolutely loved Ciders & Sliders. Chelsea Wine Vault is a great little place. I learned a lot about Cider and the sliders were delicious!
  • Winter Beers and Cheese With Stinky Bklyn

I had a great time in this class! The two instructors were very engaging and knowledgeable on the cheeses and beers we tasted. We tried 6 very different pairing combinations, ranging from black IPA and blue cheese to black currant cider and goat cheese. Portion sizes were healthy. I plan on going back soon!

  • Stouts, Porters, and Brown Ales

    Anonymous • May 5, 2016
My girlfriend purchased this class for me as a Christmas present and we attended in March. Truly was a great experience. Even with a last minute change in venue (due to World of Beer closing!), everything went off smoothly and we definitely got the educational experience we were looking for. Evie and Mickey are a great team and if you are looking to learn more about what goes into the making of the beer you drink, I highly recommend taking one of their classes. You will not be disappointed. I am looking forward to taking another one of their classes.
  • Belgium Beers

    Dan • April 29, 2016
LOVED this class. My girlfriend and I went together as her Christmas present to me (yeah, she's the best), and we were the only ones in that particular class. Mickey and Evie had this awesome two-sided approach to teaching us about the beers - Mickey would give us the historical background and explain the flavor profiles of each sample, then Evie would come in with the scientific explanations. They even had brochures for each of us, which was a really nice touch. I'm a huge beer fanatic and my girlfriend likes beer AND is very science-oriented, so the class overall greatly appealed to both of us. We got along so well with the two of them that we ended up going out for drinks with them afterwards :) I look forward to taking another class soon!
  • Yeast: Lecture & Tasting

    Brian F. • March 27, 2016
The class was great. I learned a ton about the creation of beer and all of the different types. Now I know which kinds of beers to look for when I'm at a bar and they helped me discover a bunch of new beers to buy around the city. I would recommend this class to anyone with even the slightest interest in beer. My wife loved the class and she's not a typical "beer person"!
  • Hops: Lecture & Tasting
