Description

Join us on a culinary journey where you will learn the history and traditions of regional Italian cuisine.

The starting point for our class is Liguria, the region of the city of Genoa. This city created one of the most famous cold sauces in the world, pesto alla Genovese (Basil pesto). Forget about the food processor! Your chef instructor will teach only the most authentic techniques during class, and for pesto that includes a mortar and pestle. This is the ultimate handmade pasta making experience.

From Genoa we will move to Emilia Romagna, the Italian region well known for Mortadella, Prosciutto di Parma, and Bolognese sauce. Yum!! Here we will learn to make fresh egg Tagliatelle pasta completely from scratch. The method for preparing your pasta dish will come from Veneto, the homeland of Bellini and Tiramisu. Once you have completed your culinary journey and taken the steps to cook and plate your dish, we will sit down to enjoy the best plate of pasta Italy can offer without stepping on a plane.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Notes:

  • Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, wearing your mask.
  • Guests in the same booking party will work together throughout the class by sharing ingredients and equipment.
  • Drinks are NOT included in the ticket price.
  • Guests who are 21 and over are welcome to purchase drinks at the bar.
  • Outside drinks are not allowed

Refund Policy

Cancellation or reschedule request has to be made at least 5 business days before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 16 business days for groups of 6 people or more.

For cancellation requests, please contact us at [email protected] in order to receive credits for booking a future class. Tickets are non-refundable.

However, you are always welcome to send someone in your place because we understand things could happen.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

    Really nice class as i booked it for myself only. I was invited and placed with a family of 5 that was so nice. Learn how to make pasta with no machines but use your hands and correct tools, the really Italian way. I didn't realize that machines can heat up your ingredients for your sources and can ruin them. I am here in town for 6 months and wanted to do something over the weekend and these classes works for me and can for you too! Cheers!

    The instructor was great honestly. She was super helpful, friendly, and inclusive of everyone. I think my only complaint with the experience was that the cooking class was not held in a kitchen and the class was not as communal as I would have expected or liked. I would recommend the experience to a friend though.

    I enjoyed the class, however I have one suggestion. The instructor should make certain that participants wash their hands before we started. There were around 25 participants making pasta and pesto…I hesitated eating the dish because of it.

    I thought the place was a dive - stuck into a corner of a hotel breakfast room. The woman Luba was lovely and very sweet. Her husband was nice but used the F bomb in every sentence which I though was crass. It was gross that they combined everyones pesto together and we had to eat from everyones hands not knowing their cleanliness. The husband kept on touching things -his assistants head, his shoes, and then touching the pasta. I was pretty grossed out by the whole thing. I would not recommend this class.

    Me and my partner loved the course. It was very tense - felt like we were getting a mild peak into what really happens in the kitchen. It was such a fun activity to do with a friend or partner and the chef was clearly knowledgeable and passionate about his craft.     The chef didn’t create a fun and light atmosphere - quite the opposite actually. He had a rough demeanor that made us nervous about making a mistake - but maybe that was intentional? Lesson took too long and we were starving by the end! Would suggest there are moments to test some of the food along the way so folks aren’t famished. Food ultimately was tasty and learned some tricks along the way.

    The chef was great and the pasta came out delicious. Only downside was that the class size was too large for the space and the equipment provided. This made it challenging for the chef and made it feel a bit rushed. But overall, was a fun experience and I would recommend it to others.
