Teaches at The Yarn Company

As an avid knitter with a background in theater and visual arts, an English degree and a portfolio of trend forecasting and fashion writing, Teva serendipitously began her knit design career learning by osmosis as an associate editor at Vogue Knitting. She soon developed a distinct “out of the box” style and started her own website, Loop-d-Loop.com, in 2000; meanwhile, she created iconic knit pieces such as the Braided Necklace, the Lace Leaf Scarf, and the Drawstring Cowl, showing them on “real people” models culled from New York’s downtown art, music, and dance scenes. Teva is the author of the groundbreaking book Loop-d-Loop: 40 Novel Designs for Knitters, as well as Loop-d-Loop Crochet and Loop-d-Loop Lace. Teva’s designs and articles have appeared in numerous publications; she also developed a yarn line for Tahki Stacy Charles, for which she designed six collections. Dubbed “the mistress of stitching” by Ruth La Ferla of the New York Times, Teva has taught at Vogue Knitting Live, Interweave Knit Lab, Stitches East, TNNA, The Open Center, and yarn shops nationwide. She is excited by this opportunity at our school to explore the creative process with knitters and knit designers!
