Virtual Fitness Classes & Schools

You are not alone if you find yourself drawn to an online fitness school and courses. Many students enjoy a virtual option because of the convenience and more options. You can take a virtual fitness course from anywhere as long as you have internet access and enough space to move around safely. Taking an online course means that you have access to more fitness schools. Fitness schools worldwide can offer classes at various times, giving you more class options. From a pilates class in New York to a Yoga class in the Midwest, you have access to many more options thanks to a virtual platform option.

Though convenience and more options are great benefits, there can be some drawbacks. One considerable drawback is the need to purchase your equipment. When you take a class online, equipment is usually not provided. That means if you need hand weights or a yoga mat for a class, you are expected to have your own. It is essential to consider that typical at-home classes only require a little equipment, especially if it is a beginners level class. Another drawback is that it can be hard to stay motivated because there is little connection with others. Limited contact makes it hard to feel committed to an activity, or you can even be missing an accountability partner. Consider having a friend help hold you accountable, even if they are not in the same class as you, to help with this potential obstacle.

Once you decide online classes are for you, you have many options to choose from when it comes to online fitness classes. For example, if you are interested in learning yoga, quite a few courses are offered. You could try Slow Flow, offered virtually at Essential Evolution Holistic Wellness. For $18, students can expect an hour-long, all-level slow vinyasa flow moving through deep stretching and strengthening. Students can expect a moving flow of yoga postures focusing on breath and body awareness. The link for the class is emailed to students thirty minutes before class. If that’s not enough, the Chicago Botanic Garden offers a Yoga Unlimited Semester Pass: Online. For $362, students get unlimited access to all online yoga classes offered each semester. If you want to take an online course at a local institution, Tai Chi Upper West Side provides Tai Chi Beginner Virtual. It’s a small group class sharing Tai Chi Fundamentals and Principles while helping with balance, physical and mental stress relief, and overall mind-body well-being. The course lasts for one hour and costs only $20. Online class options are plentiful, and there is undoubtedly something for everyone, no matter your fitness level.
