What you'll learn in this stained glass class:

This class will reference the rich history of pattern and ornamentation in stained glass artwork. Students will learn how to draw repeatable motifs and design with color harmonies, cut and shape glass, copper foil and solder a stained glass panel together. Basic patterns including mirror and rotational symmetries will be also be taught. 

These motifs can be combined and repeated within a composition to create even more patterns. The class will discuss color theory strategies that will bring harmony or contrast to students’ final designs

Please Note:

Preparation for Classes
Students should bring notebooks to each class for sketching steps to techniques, recording inspiration, and planning class projects. Students wishing to use specific tools or materials not supplied in class are responsible for obtaining these items themselves.

Proper Studio Attire
For your safety, protective eyewear must be worn at all times in all areas of the UrbanGlass Studio. We will provide appropriate eyewear for your use. Appropriate work clothes are also required. Flammable or synthetic fabrics, sandals and open-toe shoes are not allowed. Long hair should be tied back.
