What you'll learn in this glass blowing class:

The material for this workshop consists of ordinary pieces of float-glass in various sizes that can be cut further in any desired shape. In this practical and theoretical workshop, new and found glass pieces and broken fragments will be used creatively to construct any object possible. 

Students will also learn how to cut glass pieces to create these desired shapes. Cutting glass-pieces is similar to drawing and conducive to visualizing 3-dimensional thinking, without the need for preparatory drawings. Joining the variously shaped glass pieces by a method unlike any other conventional techniques, will allow students of all skill levels to construct complex objects within a relatively short time. 

This course offers glass artists the chance to discover a different and alternative way to work with the material glass.

Please Note:

Preparation for Classes
Students should bring notebooks to each class for sketching steps to techniques, recording inspiration, and planning class projects. Students wishing to use specific tools or materials not supplied in class are responsible for obtaining these items themselves.

Proper Studio Attire
For your safety, protective eyewear must be worn at all times in all areas of the UrbanGlass Studio. We will provide appropriate eyewear for your use. Appropriate work clothes are also required. Flammable or synthetic fabrics, sandals and open-toe shoes are not allowed. Long hair should be tied back.
