Anne Johnson

Teaches at Irish Arts Center

Growing up in Milwaukee, she was surrounded by opportunities to hear and play Irish music. She performed solo singing shows at six consecutive Milwaukee Irish Fests, in addition to appearing at the Pike Lake Folk Festival, various Irish pubs in Milwaukee and Madison, and on Wisconsin Public Radio. 

Since moving to New York, Anne has earned a Master's in music history and theory at Queens College. She has worked primarily as a music teacher at universities including Mannes College of Music, Hunter College, and Hofstra University. She is also a music journalist, contributing regularly to PS Audio’s Copper Magazine and Classical Voice North America.
