Marisa Prefer is an educator, farmer & amateur herbalist who explores ecology, food & power by encouraging regenerative systems for the health of land, plants and people. Marisa is currently working on developing curriculum for New York City’s floating food forest SwaleNY, building gardens and growing food with young folks in public schools across Brooklyn, and as the resident landscape steward at Pioneer Works. Marisa has previously collaborated with the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, The New York City Sanitation Department as a Master Composter, and as part of non/studio.
