Kevin Banahan

Teaches at SKATEYOGI

Kevin can’t stop skateboarding. For over 20 years, the challenge, creative outlet, and community formed around skating has become a part of him. Although most people think first of skateboarders grinding huge handrails or of Tony Hawk on a halfpipe, Kevin finds that the art of skateboarding can also lie in simply cruising down the sidewalk, carving around the urban terrain of cracks, curbs and pedestrians. After moving to Brooklyn in 2005 he began practicing yoga and found this to be the perfect balance to his skateboarding. 

A graduate of Harvard School of Public Health, Kevin is passionate about promoting a healthy and sustainable urban lifestyle for kids and adults. A husband, father and former environmental professional, Kevin has taught skateboarding at Friends Seminary, Urban Asanas and Skate Brooklyn.
