Cary Tamura

Teaches at Three Jewels

Cary "CT" Tamura has been studying and practicing meditation for over a decade. In that time he has been exposed to different types of meditation including the Shambhala, Zen and Tibetan schools among others. He has led group meditations in New York, Denver, and Boulder, Colorado through his website www.thesittingproject.org and he occasionally leads the NYC-based meditation group www.Dharmajunkies.com with Joseph Mauricio. His writing on meditation has been published on Elephant Journal and he working again with Joe Mauricio to develop Awake New York - an organization dedicated to promoting meditation and meditation based events in NYC. CT's teacher, John Baker was a student of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche's who founded the Shambhala school of meditation. CT is happy to also be a contributing member of the new sangha, New York Buddha Dharma. When not working on meditation projects, CT can be found working as a musician and real estate agent.
