Since childhood, Badaweyah has shared a symbiotic relationship with music, poetry and dance. Spending her life as a violinist, a stage actress and a blues singer paved a path to the sounds of the Middle East. In early 2000 during Badaweyah's research on her first love, the life of Bedouin and Berber culture and rituals, she was reintroduced to that essential Egyptian cultural artistic expression, Classical Egyptian Dance. Considering her attachment to the music of North Africa, it was only fitting that she would study with dance legends here in the US, Egypt and Turkey. Badaweyah believes dance to be an essential form of self expression and is elated to share her knowledge with any mind seeking this art form. Badaweyah has performed in Egypt, at Lincoln Center, Newark Symphony Hall and regularly in NYC, NJ and Pennsylvania.
