What you'll learn in this glass blowing class:

So you've learned how to gather and manipulate molten glass? What comes next … Basic shapes!

In this intermediate glassblowing class we'll practice refining the basics of blowing glass through studying the building blocks of glassblowing.

Focusing on three basic shapes:

  • Sphere
  • Cone
  • Cylinder
Students will study how temperature, gravity and air work together in the hot shop. While emphasis will be primarily on shaping there will be time allotted to explore color techniques as well.

Please Note:

  • Our top priority is keeping our community safe.
  • Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration.
  • Masks are still required for all ages 2 and older (we recommend a KN95 or KF94 mask).
  • Temperature checks continue at the security desk when entering.
  • We ask that if you were recently directly exposed to COVID-19 and are awaiting test results that you do not come to class, and we will work with you to find another class placement or refund you the class fee.
  • Current policies are subject to change based on additional information, including the city's new alert levels.
