Learn the basics about the tarot from Donna Henes, New York City's acclaimed Urban Shaman. This popular spiritual teacher and advisor will show you how to connect with your inner wisdom to do simple readings for yourself and others.
Tarot is not about reading the future or telling your fortune. And it is definitely NOT about fate. It, like most spiritual systems, operates from a philosophy of free will. So it is less about predictions and more about prescriptions. The tarot offers a way to access and understand the inner wisdom of your own soul. It offers guidance so you can envision and hear the answers that are within you already as you travel along your path.
The Tarot points out your patterns, it shows where your energy is and how you can use it. It shows how you might be blocking yourself and what talents you can explore. It can uncover some amazing truths in your life.
So tarot is not fortune telling, but fortune creating! A reading helps you to do what you want to do in your life. It shows you a way that you can make it happen. It leaves a road map of sorts, a play book that traces where you have been, lessons you have learned, messages from your deepest soul wisdom and how you might use them to move forward in a positive manner.
Often we know deep down the solution to our problems, but we simply need confirmation from an outside source. A Tarot reading can offer this. Additionally, the Tarot helps us focus on what is important right now. Perhaps we have lost track in our lives or feel like we are up against a wall. The Tarot offers that little push in the right direction to get you going again.
A tarot reading is a wonderful, expansive experience. To be given insight into a corner of your life that you may have not known existed is truly a blessing. If you
are interested in using the cards for purposes of meditation, guidance, inspiration or personal growth, this is the place to start.
