Amy Butler Color Palettes Workshop

Brooklyn Craft Company is thrilled to welcome fabric designer, quilter and sewer Amy Butler for a special color workshop. In one lovely afternoon, you’ll learn Amy’s insightful techniques for building your own beautiful color palettes to use in your own sewing, quilting and creative projects.

Join Amy in Brooklyn for this colorful, image-inspired workshop packed with ideas, techniques and inspiring insights on building unique and signature color palettes for your design work. 

Amy will begin with an inspirational presentation on how she works with color and creates her unique color palettes. Then Amy will guide you as you create a collage from your personal inspiration images, fabrics, ephemera and photos. From this collage you will pull specific colors to create your own unique color story. 

You don’t have to be an artist or designer to participate — everyone will discover their unique ability to sense, see and experience color.

Are materials provided and included in cost of the class? No.
Students should bring a wide selection of paint sample cards, from hardware stores or other sample sources. 

Amy recommends bringing up to 100 each. Students will pool their color cards so everyone can mix and match for ultimate color inspiration.

A selection of inspiration images is anything beautiful that catches your eye that you might like to collage with, such as magazine tears, photographs, fabric swatches, ribbons, wash tape, ephemera

Materials to be provided include:

• Amy Butler fabric swatches for use in collages
• Poster board for you to collage on
• Tape, scissors and glue
