What you'll learn in this avid training:

Comfortable with Premiere Pro or Final Cut 7, and thinking of making the switch to Avid? Take what you know in Premiere to explore and learn the fundamentals of Avid Media Composer to edit your documentary. 

Discover the differences between the two workflows from ingest to export, giving you a deepened understanding of Avid Media Composer and how to maximize efficiency for an Avid project at every stage of post.

This is a Post-Production workshop at the Fundamentals level.

Topics include:

  • Ingesting File-Based MediaTranscoding and Codecs

  • Basic Titling

Prerequisite(s): Familiarity with Premiere is required.

Materials: 

All you need to bring is yourself! Each student will be equipped with a 27-inch iMac with 5K retina display running Avid Media Composer 2018.12. Personal equipment is not permitted.

* at least 2 full business days prior to workshopʼs start date - Full Credit (valid for 3 months) or a 50% Refund
* less than 2 business days prior to workshopʼs start date - No compensation
  
No compensation, neither Refund nor Credit is available for cancellations less than 2 full business days prior to a workshopʼs start time or for non-attendance. For example, if you cancel your registration for a workshop that starts at 6:30pm on Monday, we must confirm your cancellation no later than 6:30pm the Thursday before. There are absolutely no make-ups allowed for any missed session(s) of a workshop. It is not possible for students to make up a missed session of their Workshop by attending an equivalent session on another day. There are no refunds for missed sessions.
