Time for a practical application!
The seminar will take the text work from our zoom seminar and apply it by reading and interpreting the text of a scene provided beforehand. Participants will get to see how that knowledge informs their choices in the process of bringing the scene to life and adding choreography. Ultimately, students will present the scene to the class and show off what they’ve learned!
This seminar will take place after and use the information from our zoom seminar Shakespeare’s (S)words
These seminars are an excellent companion to Staging Shakespeare’s Violence: Domestic Fury by Jared Kirby and Seth Duerr, an in-depth examination of how the greatest playwright in the English language employed not only psychological brutality, but also physical violence throughout his works.
In the event that an instructor or the school needs to cancel at the last minute, students will receive a refund less a 5% non-refundable registration fee.
