Are you a comedian or improviser looking to break into on-camera work? Or are you a newbie performer hoping to learn more about TV & Film? Actor & Comedian Andrea Ilene Shapiro is here to help you navigate the confusing world of becoming a working actor.
This course will go over the foundational essentials that every new actor needs to get started. Andrea will also talk you through the process of becoming SAG, meeting industry professionals & further training.

This course will go over the foundational essentials that every new actor needs to get started. Andrea will also talk you through the process of becoming SAG, meeting industry professionals & further training.
Syllabus:
- Headshots, Resumes & Reels
- Actor Profiles, Website
- Background Work, Student Films & Making Your Own Content
- Training
- Hosting and/or Voiceover Work
- SAG vs. Non-union
- Meeting Industry (Casting Directors, Managers, Agents) & Staying In Touch
School Notes:
OUTSIDE FOOD & DRINKS ARE NOT ALLOWED. QED has coffee, tea, soda, beer & wine plus snacks and pre-made wraps and sandwiches available.
Refund Policy
- We require at least 8 business days notice before a class in order to issue a refund less 5% cancellation fee and there are no transfers to future classes allowed.
- Tickets are transferable meaning we will allow anyone to take your place in class, so check around with your friends to see if someone else would like your spot.
In case of bad weather, classes WILL always take place unless the subway system is closed down. If you have issues traveling, please keep this in mind when you purchase your ticket. If the school do cancel for an emergency, we will try to reschedule the class on the same day of the week at the same scheduled time as soon as possible. If you cannot make the rescheduled date, we will refund you the price of your seat.
