Sports, 4th - 8th Grade

While the Sports programs are located in Bank Street’s gym, campers will also be using our many local parks such as Riverside, Morningside and Central Park, all of which are less than four blocks away. Drills, workouts and games will focus on building individual skills, teamwork, knowledge of a variety of sports, and total body coordination.  

The program is coed and with an emphasis on personal growth rather than competition. Come join, no matter what your skill level and be ready to work and grow this summer! Sports will also be involved in usual Bank Street Summer Camp fun such as camp wide programs with other Upper Camp groups, overnight trips, and, of course, the Bank Street swim program at Riverdale.

During their semiweekly swim, campers have both instructional swim and free swim at a private pool in Riverdale. Counselors and swim staff work with the same campers each time, individually and in small groups, at appropriate swim levels and with an emphasis on safety. 

This summer, we are excited to be using some of the classrooms in the Columbia Kraft Center at 115th St. While the Sports group will meet and dismiss in the Kraft Center unit space, the group will be using the Gym and Bank Street as well as the varous outdoor spaces in the area.
