What you'll learn in this brewing class:

Perfect for any curious coffee enthusiast looking to take their home brewing game to the next level, this class explores the many variables that go into brewing the perfect cup of coffee, as well as a demo of several popular at-home brewing methods.

We’ll start the class by demystifying the label on the coffee bag to give you a better understanding of what the information presented can tell you about how the coffee inside tastes. From there, we’ll explore the science of extraction to help you brew a better cup at home.

At the end of the class we’ll put what you’ve learned into practice, teaching you how to brew coffee using four common home brewing devices: V60, Chemex, Aeropress, and French Press. You’ll learn how each brew method works, how they can highlight different attributes in the coffee, and how each brew method might work best for your lifestyle.

Very informative lecture on coffee brewing.

This class was very welcoming as they made mention many times that you did not need any prior experience in attending this class. However, I was disappointed that the class was treated like a lecture instead of a hands-on course. For two hour we all sat around around a table and watched people brew coffee in a few different brewing methods. For $50, i saw this as some what of a rip-off. They even made mention on a few of the methods how you have to pour a specific way, which would have been more intuitive if we were all hands on. There was also no defined outline of the class. As the class went on, the two "instructors/ lecturers" would randomly look at each other to figure out what to talk about next. For someone who is interested in learning more about the art of coffee or expanding your pallet, this class will be a waste of time. Go to a cupping class or invest in the espresso/ barista training.
