Joe was founded in 2003 as a singular specialty coffee house in Manhattan’s west village with the simple vision of brewing the highest quality, unique coffees and serving them with unsurpassed hospitality and knowledge. In order to bring such highly curated coffees to our customers, we worked alongside some of the most renowned domestic and international roasteries. With the July 2013 launch of our own roasting operations in red hook, Brooklyn, we now roast 100% of our own single-origin and blended offerings. whether in the roastery or in one of our now 10 cafes, we strive to effect our deeply rooted core value proposition: the desire to build, maintain and strengthen community at every level from producer to customer.
We strive to be a source of information and experience for coffee enthusiasts of all varieties. Join our lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on classes to explore brew methods, milk crafting, coffee processing and evaluation.
Best Class ever Keyla is the best instructor Thank you
Excellent class, great instructions and pleny of opportunity to practice.
I thought the class was fun and beneficial for the beginners. The mentors Michael and Nich were helpful and had performed detailed demonstrations throughout the class. We gained fundamental knowledge and technique about brewing a perfect cup of espresso, steaming milk in a correct manner and create latte art which i thought is the most interesting part of the class. At the end, looks like we need more continuous practice to make a perfect cup of coffee. Thanks to Joe Coffee Company
Ed made this class so interesting and fun! We learned about roasting and tried our different roasts, and Ed shared interesting stories about his experiences in coffee roasting and sourcing. I really loved this class!
Had a great time in this course and learned a lot about the coffee business, in addition to brewing methods and production process. The instructor was very knowledgeable, friendly and communicative.
This was a great class. Ed the instructor was super cool. Very informative. I'm considering taking more classes. Rome from BK.
It was a nice class; but wish we had more than an hour to work on the actual latte art - would have loved to have more chances to pour.
It was very informational and hands-on. The most of the students were coffee enthusiasts were like me. The only feedback I have is that he teachers were able to deliver what they have learned within the realm of the company, but sometime I felt that they lacked depth in their knowledge, and was not able to address some of the questions the students have. Especially, when it came to science of it, it would be more valuable to explain the concepts in better scientific terminology than saying "sweet stuff", "bitter stuff".
great fun and informative intro class. highly recommend!
The instructors were informative and patient with the participants. I think the class could of been easily covered in 4 hours not the 6 hours with a lunch break and more reasonably price of $150 instead of $250 for class/content. The classroom environment was in the back of coffee shop which was not the ideal spot with employees walking through and being able to hear grinding machines being used by employees up front for their customers. The equipment demonstrated on was spectacular.
