What you'll learn in this drawing class:

All levels are welcomed.

In this class, we will focus on figure drawing and various drawing techniques. We begin with a short discussion/demo of different approaches to drawing. There is a live model for each session.

Please bring a pad up to 18×24, a 2H, HB, and 4B pencil, and an eraser.

Because of the limited space, we can not offer any refunds for the session. Thank you for your understanding.

Absolutely no photography while the model is posing.

PLEASE NOTE: we can not accommodate dry pastels (for health reasons), open ink containers, or paint other than watercolor.

Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the moderator to prevent disruption to other artists.

The course was perfect for me (and my son) -- absolute beginners. Elaina Wiley (sp) was such a lovely, sensitive and highly skilled teacher -- able to explain some of the magic of drawing -- in a way that was very accessible and encouraging for someone just starting out. It was especially nice being in the Met environment, which was both peaceful and inspiring. I would be very interested in other courses and workshops like this one. Really fun-not intimidating at all, from someone who can't draw a circle or a straight line. Simon was encouraging and funny. Was a great experience and hanging out at the Met in the evening, what could be better.
