From mastering fundamentals on the low catch trap to engaging in circuit training for optimal conditioning, our professional instructors guide students toward achieving the expertise needed to catch fellow flyers. Ever wondered what it takes to be a catcher? Level II+ flyers can take Catch Lock classes and work on building up the strength and timing required to execute a swinging catch lock. It is even possible to build the necessary skills to catch a TSNY staff member in lines!
Students start by learning the fundamentals on the low catch trap; getting into and out of the catch lock while static, building and stopping your swing, and adjusting the height of your swing. Circuit training includes pull ups, rope climbing, leg strengthening, and core conditioning drills. Students who have achieved an out of lines swing on the flying trapeze (Level III+) and have developed a clean swinging catch lock (as determined by senior instructors) may be invited to swing in the high catch trap, and even catch a flyer.
What to Wear:
Cancellations made at least 72 hours in advance of the class will be honored with a full refund. Students who cancel less than 48 hours prior to the start time of the class will receive a credit towards a future class.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
