What you'll learn in this thai cooking class:

No need to bring anything but your hunger for good food, your thirst for knowledge, and your special someone!

Southeast Asian spices and ingredients can be daunting – lemongrass, Kaffir lime leaves, galangal, palm sugar, fish sauce and curry paste  –  but no more!

We’ll meet in Chinatown and shop at our favorite stores to get all the ingredients to cook:

  • Shrimp Tom Kha Gai
  • Chicken Green Curry
  • Coconut Rice
  • Pad Thai
  • Green Papaya Salad

Local beer and wine is served with every class.

School Notes:
We don't have any age restrictions on either our classes or events. We take people of all ages, but those under 21 years of age are not allowed to consume wine or any alcoholic beverages.

Chef Roger, was very knowledgeable. He gave us clear directions as we prepped and shared information about the ingredients we were using and their origins and importance in each dish. I appreciated the one-on-one attention he provided and walked away with a few helpful knife tips that I will be using at home. My husband and I really enjoyed this Shop and Cook Class: Thai Cuisine.

Chef Abigail Hitchcock was just wonderful. She showed me some of her favorite places in Chinatown to shop for Thai ingredients, fish, and veggies. She has so much experience there and I, who am relatively new to the city, would have no way of sorting all the options out like that. Then we went to her restaurant and spent the afternoon cooking in her professional kitchen before her first service started. I learned a ton and she is funny and charming and easy to be around. And the food was amazing. I take a lot of cooking classes in NYC and this was hands down the best yet. I will be back for more!

Really great value for money. Learnt where to shop for best authentic ingredients and had a great experience cooking with Abby in her restaurant. Not only learnt new skills and techniques but got to enjoy the delicious food with a couple of glasses of wine. Would highly recommend this course.
