Description
What you'll learn in this kids camp:
Our tween summer camp combines the best parts of fashion and design for ages 9-12 years old. Limited to only 12 campers, our one-of-a-kind "boutique" camp teaches students how to sew, design and style their own garments in one or more week of summer.
Each day breaks down into five classes with experienced instructors (and our CPR & First Aid certified TFC staffers) who work in the fashion industry. Small class sizes allow each camper to get the attention and tools they need to design and create.
We’ll start the morning off with fashion illustration and then take a field trip or have a special guest activity (for example: we visit Mood Fabrics, the FIT museum, learn interactive fashion history, visit designer showrooms and have a real fashion model teach us how to walk the runway!).
After lunch we learn how to create our own fashion brands by designing logos and products, then move on to accessory design. Finally it's time to sew in our large fully equipped sewing studio where we make real, wearable garments (campers will sew three items in one week).
The best part is . . . camp ends with a fashion show for parents and friends! Our fashionistas will show off their sewn garments, fabulous accessories, brands and illustration portfolios on Friday at pick-up (5pm).
Designed as a 2-week experience, campers can register for 1+ weeks (after two weeks some lessons may repeat). All supplies, field trip costs and transportation (except lunch and snack) are included. Join us this summer in our loft styled studio in the heart of NYC's Fashion District!

All supplies, field trip and transportation costs included. Field trips are either walking trips (6 blocks or less) or via car service; our trip ratio is 3 children per one adult.

- 9-10 am Fashion Illustration: Campers will learn to sketch the fashion figure, draw and design clothing using paint, fashion markers and more.
- 10-12 noon Fashion NYC: This class explores different areas of fashion like fabric science, technology, entrepreneurship and history (with real period costumes) by visiting designer showrooms, fashion museum exhibits and having fabulous guests join us in studio.
- 12-1pm Lunch/Fashion Games: Our 10-minute Catwalk game is practically famous.
- 1-2:30 pm Fashion Branding: In this entrepreneurship based class campers will conceptualize their own fashion brand complete with a logo, business cards, branded tote bag and store window display.
- 2:30-5 pm Sewing: We save the best for last; our campers will sew real and wearable clothing on our Singer Quantum Stylist Sewing machines complete with LCD touch screen, finger guards and plenty of fun embroidery stitches!

Your child's registration can be transferred to another class time or day with one week notice (based on availability). Should you need to cancel your child's registration for any reason one week prior to the start date of the class The Fashion Class will process a refund (less the non-refundable 30% deposit and CourseHorse fees) within 10 business days. Cancellations made with less than 1-week notice will forfeit the class fee.
Camps
Your child's registration can be transferred to another class time or day with three weeks notice (based on availability). Deposits/payment cannot be transferred to another student. Should you need to cancel your child's registration for any reason one month prior to the start date of camp The Fashion Class will process a refund (less the non-refundable deposit and CourseHorse fees) within 10 business days.

o 2 weeks prior to start of camp session, 25% refund
