About Ikebana Flowers New York

Ikebana is the revered traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement.

Using this ancient discipline as its foundation, Junko Miura has developed Jun Fusion, more evolved artistic form of flower arrangement.

Junko
is a classically trained, second generation Ikebana Master. She also has an extensive background in art and fashion design.

In her work as an international designer, she has moved Ikebana into a direction that steps beyond the traditional flower arrangements into more artistic, inspiring, three dimensional sculptural creations….. toward the spirit of Jun Fusion.

Junko’s award winning creations based on her Jun Fusion method made her one of New York’s most sought after artists of flower arrangements.

Junko has the honor of offering her creations to:

The Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations, diplomatic ceremonies at the embassies, museums, galleries, high-end retail stores, and other public and private spaces. She also holds a teaching position at the New York Botanical Garde

This was a wonderful class. I learned so much from Junko, and especially enjoyed learning about the history of Ikebana + her own journey with the art form. I left with a beautiful piece, lots more knowledge, and the inspiration to keep trying at home. Thank you for an awesome class!

I thoroughly enjoyed the basic Ikebana class with instructor and assistant. It was exquisite though her mastery of Ikebana floral design was for a considerable length of years, during the class she allowed us attendees the freedom to be creative with our designs. The class was a delight to learn of this technique of Ikebana.

It was fun learning a new technique but kinda slow. Also the result wasnt great or as expected. The teacher is v good but the corse needs some modifications. Like making it more engaging and add base sponge to help upright the branches. It was also 3 hours long.

My friend and I had such a lovely time learning about Ikebana and Japanese culture. It was such a great lesson of how to see beauty even in the simplest of things! They provided all of the materials and we hand crafted everything with help. Junko was extremely knowledgable and had an excellent eye for helping you develop your own ikebana arrangement. At the end, you keep the pot, planting materials, and ikebana flower arranger. I would absolutely go back again!

Loved this intro to Japanese floral design class! Junko is so knowledgeable and kind. I really enjoyed the history/theory section part at the beginning that helped ground the arranging exercise. It was amazing how different everyone's arrangement turned out when working with the exact same materials. I will definitely be back for another class!

Class was lots of fun! Instructor informative & personable. The website should’ve been more explicit about the additional materials fee. I believe I saw it once while I was looking at classes but it was not part of checkout and never mentioned again until we arrived.
