Good class. Mark and Karen are both encouraging and provide great tips on how to improve your acting. I would've loved if the class were a bit more wholesome (less cursing and more encouraging, lighter scripts) though the class does push individuals to feel the character and make the part their own.

It was a really great experience! I wanted to try something new. I had never really acted before but I do have a flare for the dramatic. I always knew I had a knack for acting but seeing myself on the screen really have me the confirmation I wanted and the tips I need to be even better!

For a beginner, I think the Essentials Class is great for learning exactly what it is called - the essentials of acting. In taking it a number of times, I was given more challenging exercises over time. So, even if you want to take the class more than once, it would be definitely worth it to progress even further. Even if you aren't a total beginner, the exercises can be made more challenging for you. I highly recommend it.

Mark Stolzenberg makes this class fun for anyone, whether a newcomer or a veteran. He gives pointers throughout the class either before someone does his/her part before the camera or reacting to the part just done. All pointers and help are given to improve the actor's performance. He also opens it up to class members to give their opinions on another's performance. I recommend anyone to take these classes either as a trial or to stick with it.
