  I attended the class with approximately 40 business owners of large enterprise organizations as part of our continuing education series for our group. This class was the most well received class of the three years and approximately 20 classes we have had. The instructor - Professor Lipson - is the perfect combination of academic and real world relevance. Put simply the class was absolutely captivating! Any time spent learning from or listening to Professor Lipson will be time well spent!

  The class was great. I got alot of good information about how to use software with 3d printers: nozel maintenence, item construction in relation to the printer bed, what different 3d printing materials are cable of, etc. The class was small 2 including myself which was great since I had specific inquiries about the functions of 3d printers and software. It was also great to get some first person experience with calibrating the hardware bed with nozel. I also got hear about different programs that are run at this studio. I definitely plan to return and keep learning more. Thanks! :)

  Yesterday I took the Intro Microcontrollers workshop with Mohammed Zen Akram, at the Duro Workforce sunny, spacious, modern facilities. I have a technical background but the other students had none. They were lawyers, artists, marketing professionals. Mohammed, masterfully brought all of us at the technical level required to build simple electronic circuits and control them with the computer software via Arduino Board! After the workshop, Mohammed and Gabriel Foreman, Duro Workforce president spent more than hour answering students' what if questions and guiding our future technical education! Wonderful class!

  This class was exactly what I needed. This class is great for those who know nothing about IoT but want to get started. By the end of the class I had an LED set up and programmed to blink. Mohammed was an excellent teacher and very patient. Things went so well that I paid for 2 hours of private tutoring to get help with a project I was working on. I started on IoT on my own reading online tutorials. Save yourself a lot of frustration and take a class with someone who knows what they are doing. Understanding the fundamentals and being able to ask questions directly is sooo helpful. IoT and microcontrollers are so much more fun when things actually work.

  I took the beginner and intermediate Arduino courses and I am very satisfied with both. The curriculum satisfies the curiosity of those who want a solid learning on how Arduino works and explore all its possibilities. Additionally, on each class you will walk away with a fully developed hands-on project to see applications of the theory. Mohammed is a very professional and patient instructor, he will give you very good slides and you will even have office hours for questions. I recommend it fully.

  Duro has been a great learning experience where I have met people with different interests in technology. I had never worked with hardware like an Arduino board before but in a few weeks I felt familiarized. Overall it’s been an exciting way to learn and a good way to meet people with different interests than mine who want to use technology to make the world better.

  The Beginner Microcontrollers: Controlling Lights 5 week workshop was an amazing introduction to a field that I’ve been wanting to investigate, but couldn’t get into on my own. Mohammed is an extremely knowledgeable - and patient - instructor. He’s able to explain complicated concepts in familiar terms, and structures the lesson plans to be both digestible and dynamic. The classes follow classic pedagogical structures with material being introduced via relatable metaphors and back and forth dialog, the introduction of more sophisticated information over the course of the workshop, homework that reinforces the primary lessons of a class, office hours to confer and problem solve, and reviews at the beginning of each class. As an artist and professor, I’ve spent a lot of time in maker spaces, and gotten most of my tech chops from that environment and through online tutorials. What sets this workshop apart is not just the combination of hands-on learning and personal attention, but also Mohammed’s extensive background as an electrical engineer, who’s able to teach not just the how, but also the why.

  The workshop has been extremely helpful in my career journey. Guided by an experienced staff, I was able to solidify my understanding of basic engineering skills, develop new ones, and be exposed to the correct practices and modes of thinking an engineer should have while operating on the job.   Duro’s workshop has been rewarding on many levels. The staff are highly supportive, driven, and engaged. Our instructor was great at explaining the material needed to complete our projects. Already I have learned the basics of electrical engineering, program hardware through Arduino, and pitching to investors. I’ve also gotten helpful advice on improving my LinkedIn.

  Dave is incredibly knowledgeable and such an approachable teacher. The class is a great introduction to physical computing, and some of the fun and neat things that you can do with the board. It is deeply applicable knowledge, we came home and immediately reproduced the stuff we learned to show off to our friends. I highly recommend this class to someone new to programming/ physical computing who is interested in learning a spectrum of very basic fun concepts.
