  Ian was fantastic! he was patient and super-knowlegable. The only problem with the course (through no one's fault) is that I would have loved and needed a full week's worth of them! The software is quite complex, and will take me some time to get it down.

  Outstanding class. I've taken multiple classes here and they are all very informative yet presented in a way that is easy to absord. Ian is a wonderful teacher who always goes at a steady pace and takes time to answer any questions. He even helped me figure out how to do a personal project in in Grasshopper. Highly recommend for anyone interested in learning/advancing or brushing up on Grasshopper or Rhino.

  rhino is tough but this class was a really good introduction. ended up going remote because of covid-19, which, was less than ideal, would love to retake in the future.

  It was the perfect level for a beginner to Rhino who is used to using other design computer programs. Everything was clear and concise and we went through all the important beginner tools, whilst also leaving room for questions at the end.

  Was the introduction to Rhino / Grasshopper that I was looking for. It's a dense three days and I definitely wasn't able to absorb everything, but Ian did a nice job of going in-depth when someone in the class had questions and briefly touched on other, more straightforward points when needed in order to give as complete an overview as possible in the short time available. Ian provided demo files that were really helpful, including many extras that we weren't able to cover. He also provided resources from the makers of Rhino / Grasshopper and mentioned additional supplements that I've found helpful. I now have enough of a grasp of the Rhino / Grasshopper workflow that when I get stuck, I'm able to effectively Google questions and look through the Help docs, whereas before, I wouldn't know how to ask a question about what I wanted to accomplish, because my understanding was so limited. While it's not possible to really learn a new program in three days, Ian's foundation taught me how to approach modeling / designing using Rhino and cleared the beginning hurdles that I was getting caught up in when trying to learn myself. It was very helpful to have his guidance and it's a lot easier to grasp something new when you're able to ask questions and get "insider" shortcuts from someone who has the experience Ian does.

  I can’t say enough good things about Ian, but I will give a few. He’s very knowledgeable, explains the topics very well, is prepared for the classes well and was also good at adjusting to the needs of the students, and just a great guy. I highly recommend taking this class or whatever other class Ian offers that interests you.

  The class was definitely what I was looking for and learned a lot from the teacher. I loved the fact that class was very small at 6 and not overwhelming. Instructor was very detailed and easy to learn from. As a beginner of the software, after the class I felt I can definitely start using the program right away. I highly recommend to those who’s willing to learn.

  I recently completed Beginner CAD: Developing Designs. I have a degree in Automation Engineering Technology, so basically I have the formal education to be qualified to repair and maintain robotic and automated systems, but I want to design and build robots. I chose to pursue this workshop in AutoDesk’s Fusion360 because of its universal robustness as a CAD, 3D Sculpting, Modeling, CAM, etc. software package. I signed up for Duro because of the in-class experience with a real classroom and a real instructor. Nothing beats the ability to just have an instructor in the room with you, period. The class is a great value- other classes of this nature can easily cost twice as much, and the benefit that being efficient with a software such as Fusion 360 brings to your resume, and the opportunity to meet other like minded people, will pay for this class over and over again. The office is also convenient to get to. Duro is in Mott Haven right outside of Manhattan, and even with the construction it’s a simple drive, with plenty of on street parking. Definitely WORTH IT.

  Duro’s Developing Designs CAD course is by far one of the best workshops I have been to. As a high school senior, I want to expand my knowledge and to learn as much as possible. That is exactly what this class did. The instructor was engaging, there was a large focus on my needs, and after every class I felt that I was a master of what I learned. The instructor and assistants gave great worksheets and out-of-class projects so I could review what I learned throughout the class. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in learning CAD.

  Duro has been a great experience. The staff is diverse and very well equipped to educate and mentor, providing gems of knowledge geared towards helping us get ahead as well as expanding our professional network. They engaged and captivated us through relevant hands on experience and skill development. We learned in-depth how to create 3D models using Fusion 360, which exposed someone like myself with little background in engineering to the process of developing hardware from the start to finish. In addition to sharpening our pitching and presentation skills, we learned how to use keywords and tips to best utilize professional tools such as LinkedIn and present ourselves to the best of our ability as young professionals, as well as allowing us access to companies within their network to help us get our foot in the door. All in all I fully enjoyed and truly benefited from the experience and would love to see more programs done by them in the future.

  This class helped to improve my tech skills and learn things I haven’t had a chance to experience before. Some people may be shy to enter programs like this because they either don't have any tech experience or feel like they have to know everything about tech to be in places like this. I think anyone who takes these workshops would be amazed how much they learn in just a short time. One thing I appreciate is that this program gives everyone a chance to experience the future of technology.

  I’m a full-stack web developer and UX/UI designer, and I recently took Duro’s Beginner CAD workshop, Developing Designs. In this workshop I’ve been able to showcase new aspects of my creativity with AutoDesk’s Fusion360 software. Learning the program was fun because I was able to create ideas for physical objects and bring them into reality. It allows everyone to have a chance to come up with the next big thing that could change the world in unexpected ways. I would recommend this workshop to every creative and innovative person who may not have thought about computer aided design, so they can exercise their minds to create- even if it's just an MVP (minimum viable product). I want to thank Duro for exposing me to this path.

  The Duro workshop has been an incredible experience. I learned the beginner tools needed to become a mechanical engineer, where I’ve designed models and 3D printed. I’ve fallen in love with the process of designing things from furniture to buildings. I would recommend Duro to anyone interested in engineering and robotics because they will provide you with an array of skills to use and hands-on experience.

Through Duro I’ve been able to get hands-on experience on simulation of Operational Modal Analysis, static and dynamic simulation using AutoDesk's Fusion 360 CAD program. I’ve also programmed microcontrollers using C++ to create interactive electric objects. Duro has allowed me to apply engineering theories I learned in classroom to real-world practical experience.   This was the third workshop I've taken here. Like the other two, the pace was very steady, and easy to follow. I am a novice at this, and really appreciate the time it takes to prepare and deliver material in such a way that new users can understand. Can't believe he's not teaching at Pratt. I would take other workshops here again, no hesitation.

  This class was incredibly helpful. Ian, the professor, accommodated greatly to our needs as learners. His way of teaching made me want to continue taking classes. There is no such thing as being shy in a class that is so friendly. Questions and concerns are of priority to Ian, which makes students feel recognized and motivated to be successful. This class, in two days, has taught me more in rhino than my Rep class in college, which is already two months in the semester. I highly recommend this workshop with Ian.
