What you'll learn in this communications course:

Have you accomplished something amazing lately and you feel like you can’t share the happiness fully? Or maybe you find yourself playing small, taking risks that aren’t making an impact on your personal and professional life? Are you happy with the level of confidence you feel and exude?

Women today tend to qualify accomplishments and exciting moments with things like #HumbleBrag or don’t even mention it at all for fear of making others jealous. Worse, we’ve been conditioned that everything is a competition and that the pie of success is finite.

It isn’t. And we all should be proud of each other.

If you connect with this and want to stop playing small and bring out your inner badass, join us for this interactive and improv-based workshop that will help you feel more confident, stop feeling bad about talking about your accomplishments and get you ready to jump into your next big risk and adventure.

We’ll explore ideas of affirmation and elevation, both for ourselves and those around us, use Yes, And to accelerate ideas, and explore and uplift Ann Friedman’s idea of Shine Theory. Surround yourself with other amazing women and by shining together, we’ll all be brighter.

This is an all-women class.

The class was wonderfully thought provoking and challenged us to shift the lens through which we view the world (and our roles in it) just a little more toward the edge of our comfort zone. We had a great group of women attendees and Alex (our fierce leader) was exactly what we needed. It was a solid first step toward the personal changes we want for ourselves!

I was fortunate to come into a small class of 4 people, as there was a lot of space for sharing. I appreciate how Alex (our instructor), was patient, listened well to us all, and guided us through some really great exercises. This was another great tool for me as I see the applicability of this topic in both interpersonal and professional settings. I hope there is a way to make this a 2 or 3-part course. Thank you very much!

The class overall was great, there was nothing negative that happened specifically that made me give 4 stars over 5... was just the overall feeling! Teacher was great, activities were great as well. It just missed something, don’t know what that something is. :) thank you!

Wonderful class! Loved the focus on common issues that women in particular face with public speaking. Our teacher, Olive Persimmon, was friendly, encouraging, and helpful. My one wish was that we spent less time on general improv and more time on public speaking-specific exercises.
