Hands-On Product Making For Self-Care & Beauty: Part 1

In this class you will be creating, and customizing each product using ingredients and oils used on the body, face, hair, hands, and feet. You will be instructed on thickeners, emulsifiers, emollients, preservatives, antioxidants, and special ingredients to make your formula extra unique. A good lotion can change your skin for the better, so by the time you leave this class you will be able to make both lotions and creams to suit your special needs. Whether for yourself, or a special person including babies, you will never need to buy another chemical filled “”natural”” cream or lotion again.

Part 1: Organic Butters/Balms: Creating Waterless Organic Products 

In this session, you will be creating a body butter as the base for your foot/body scrubs including dead sea salt and organic exfoliating sugars. We will identify the essential oils for foot scrubs used to fight fungus and bacteria; make moisturizing body balm sticks (which can be customized for using on dogs paw pads); create massage bars to deliver soothing ingredients without messy oils that melt onto your skin and slowly sink in after working your tired muscles. You will be making your very own lip balms with natural flavour oils, vegan or bees wax, and a sun protection oil.

Note: A materials fee of $20 (choices of: shea butter, essential oils, wax, grapeseed oil, etc) is to be paid to the instructor. Be prepared to take a lot of product home. A set of written instructions for every recipe will be given.
