What you'll learn in this spirit class:
In this class, we'll explore the two primary flavor styles that are available in whiskies from around the world: smoke and fruit. What do those words mean when it comes to whiskey, and can they exist at the same time? The language of whiskey comes into play here as these two words can take on many different meanings based on context, production and maturation, and blending. One thing is certain: with a head full of new descriptions, you'll never taste whiskey the same way again!
Classes are 2 hours long, including a Q&A session.
What you can expect:
- 1 Welcome drink
- 3 Tasting pours of Whiskeys with fruit primary notes.
- 3 Tasting pours of Whiskeys with smoke primary notes.
- Palate-cleansing bread & cheese
- A 15% discount on all spirits tasted to use in-store after class
What you will learn:
- How to identify flavors in whiskey and how it is made.
- The history, geography, and flavor profiles of each spirit
- How to taste and describe spirits
- What to look for in excellent whiskey
