What you'll learn in this jewelry class:

Transform epoxy resin into an intense jewelry medium with coloring agents and collage materials.

Receive instruction on specific fabrication considerations when using epoxy resin. Mold making for sculptural forms is demonstrated and experienced. Come explore this low-tech “kitchen table” material.

Please Note: There is a $65.00 material fee, payable to the instructor, which include epoxy resin.

Supply List:
  • Wet/Dry Sandpaper 3 sheets 220 grit
  • 1 sheet 320 grit
  • 1 sheet 400 grit
  • 1 sheet 600 grit
  • Flat bottom tray with sides at least 2” high (approx. 6”x8” or larger) can be plastic or metal. You will be sanding
    your pieces in these trays.
  • Scissors
  • Permanent Marking pen
  • Optional: your favorite collage materials
Student Guidelines & Studio Rules
  • Studios are open 15 min before the start of class.
  • Do not enter any studio without your instructor present.
  • Do not enter a studio until the previous class has ended and all the participants have left the room and your instructor is present.
  • Students must leave studios after their class is over.
  • Do not use any tool that you are unfamiliar with as it could permanently damage the tool
    particularly hammers.
  • Only use hammers that you are familiar with like a “hardware hammer” if it doesn’t look
    familiar don’t use it you will ruin it.
  • Exhaust fans must be turned on when torches are being used or any materials is being melted.
  • Tools & Torches are coded with six different colors which denote the studios they belong in and
    their use;
    • Blue S353
    • Yellow S355
    • Red S352
    • Orange S350
  • Light Blue Instructor’s Box Not For Student Use.
  • Green is for children’s classes
  • If you borrow a tool from another room return it at the end of class time.
  • Library books are for reference only please return them in their proper order.
  • Students are responsible for cleaning the space they have used including the soldering station and bricks and returning
    tools at the end of class.
  • This is a communal studio please help us make your time here productive by following the above guidelines.

92nd Street Y is not responsible for providing makeup classes or issuing refunds for programs missed as a result of illness, emergencies or other events beyond our control.

There are no refunds for outings, classes or workshops that meet fewer than three times per semester.

If you are unable to attend, you may contact Customer Service prior to the first date for a receipt that enables you to claim your contribution as a tax-deductible gift.

Unless otherwise noted in program description, the following schedule applies to programs which meet three times or more per semester:
  • To receive a 100% refund, written request must be received 2 weeks prior to the first session.
  • To receive a 75% refund, written request must be received at least one day prior to the first session.
  • To receive a 50% refund, written request must be received at least one day prior to the second session.
  • After that, refunds cannot be granted.
All refund requests must be submitted in writing to Customer Service. Refunds are computed from the date written notice is received.

To receive a refund, you must enclose the original of your confirmation letter.

Please allow three to four weeks for processing of your refund request. Processing fees, membership fees, auditions fees and class or exercise cards are not refundable. No cash refunds.
