Description

New York City Photo Safaris are led by professional photographers with a wide array of industry experience. We are first and foremost photographers; we have spent our careers pursuing photography. It goes without saying that we are passionate about it. The question is why and what are we passionate about? Perhaps the photo equipment? Photo gadgets are cool, but there's more to it than that. We want to share our vision. The opportunity to teach photography to amateur & emerging photographers via a photo walking tour is an opportunity to share our joy of digital photography.

Our motto: "Turning Picture Takers into Image Makers."

Whether you live in Lower Manhattan and are just looking for unique NYC things to do on the weekend, or a visiting tourist, our photo pros will help you take home great photographs of New York as well as photography skills & vacation memories that last a lifetime. While most photography walking tours provide historical information, our tours will help you improve your photography techniques & skills so you can create your own memories.

I signed up for this course last minute on a whim. I had the morning to kill, have recently started getting into photography and have NEVER been able to take a picture of the Brooklyn bridge that I liked. Zim delivered! Prompt, sociable and funny, she brought our small group to several vantage points, offered some quick pointers, getting us to shoot immediately and offering great feedback to tweak while shooting some more before moving to the next spot. Exactly what I was looking for.

Great class! Zim is able to make this class fun even when the class has varying levels of photography skills. Although it’s a group setting she still gives individual attention and advice. This was very helpful for me since I was just trying understand my camera a little better. While some of the more advanced people had other goals. I am really glad I took this class. I would definitely recommend it.

It was an exceptional class. I was lucky to be the only one attending that day and hence, got to learn a lot more. Zim provides a lot of details with demonstrative examples that I found extremely useful for low light / night photography. You can read all you want but first hand, face-face lessons surpasses everything. Already looking forward to attending Zim's fall course in October :-) As she says - it is all about the composition!
