Art of Intuitive Photography

Greenwich Village, New York, New York
(422 Reviews)

The Art of Intuitive Photography is focused on enhancing your intuition in photography, learning how to see differently, and compositional improvement. It is open to all photography levels and all digital cameras (including point and shoot). This is not a technical class, however we will go over basics to those who request/need it.

We will conduct exercises to tune you into your intuition, and learn how to take photos by following it. In addition, we will focus on the differences between looking, observing and seeing. Throughout the class we will give feedback on how to better the composition of your photos. You will notice that by the end of the class you will not only be looking at the world differently, but you will have better photographs to prove it!

How we are different:

  • Fun for all ages
  • We teach photography classes, workshops and lessons to adults and children/teens in various fun locations in NYC. Learn how to use your camera, improve the composition of your images, join a photo tour, or learn how intuition can help you take creative photos.
  • Personal and hands-on.
  • If you're tired of traditional classroom teaching or frustrated with reading manuals or watching videos, join one of our classes for an authentic way of learning while getting the personal attention you deserve.
  • We offer a 100% money back guarantee if you are not satisfied with a session you attend.

What are some of your most popular classes that you offer on CourseHorse?
Digital Photography for Beginners, Art of Intuitive Photography and our Walk-About classes are the most popular.

How long have you been in business? Can you share a bit more about your history?
We just celebrated our six year anniversary this 2016. My first class I created was the Art of Intuitive Photography. It was created out of my frustration of being a photography student and not getting enough exposure on how to capture more creative photos.

What is your average class size?
Our average class size is 6-10 students.

What is your typical student like? What are their goals?
Our students are typically those who want to learn how to use their camera (starting a hobby or going on vacation) and wanting to know how to be more creative with their photography.

Can you recommend activities to do in the neighborhood before or after class?
We teach our classes in all different locations. It is recommended to explore the area. Walk down streets or turn corners and see something visually interesting to you.

Notes: Exact location and other information about the class will be emailed to the enrolled students 1 to 2 days before class.

I had a great time and learned so much in just 1 lesson. Mindy is an excellent instructor! I highly recommended her courses.

The class was fun and informative. The instructor was very helpful addressing the whole group and also making sure to meet individual needs as well! The only thing that would have helped make the class better was a bit of sun!

LOVED this Class....already stopped using the "auto" mode on my camera. Mindy, the instructor, was super-knowledgeable, friendly, and explained things in a clear way. Additionally, we would do in-class "exercises" to ensure we knew how to do things on our own. She would make sure everyone understood each aspect before moving forward. I'd love to take more classes w/ her

This class is really worth taking for all the photography beginners. Mindy was truly informative, and her explanation was very easy to understand. I will definitely come back for more classes with her!

I was initially skeptical about a class in smartphone photography--point & shoots & SLRs are one thing, but camera phones?--but there was actually a lot to learn (which really shouldn't surprise anyone given how advanced these cameras are nowadays). It was nice to have the class on Governors Island, on a mostly sunny day, which helped with the class. The course instructor, Sepia Prince, was great; not only is he a really cool guy, but, as a professional photographer, very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend the class for anyone interested in taking better photos with their phones. Highly recommended. Yoni

Mindy Véissid is an excellent teacher. I just bought a new camera and this was my first photography class. I learned about ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. We practiced taking photos in class to apply this new knowledge. She went around to make sure everyone in the class knew how to use the settings on their individual camera. She even helped me put on my camera strap! Once again, she is a wonderful teacher and I'm excited about taking another class soon!

Mindy as such a great teacher! Cannot wait to take another class again soon! I could barely turn my camera on and by the end felt very confident shooting in manual mode
