Improvolution is an improv school and performing group that believes improv is for everyone, not just actors or performers. They aim to help individuals tap into their fearless, creative, and spontaneous selves while collaborating with others in a supportive and positive environment.

Improvolution is an improv school, a group of performers, and dare we say philosophy of how to live, create, and collaborate on and off stage…(why yes, we dare!) We stand firmly behind our motto that improv IS for everyone. If you want to learn it, we can teach you. It’s not about being funny or clever or aggressive, or needing to be a good actor or performer. It’s about investing in and getting behind the part of yourself that is fearless, creative, open, spontaneous, and likes the idea of creating with others. Improv has been and always will be a “team sport”.
Our name came from the idea that, well, improvisation as a form of comedy and entertainment is now more or less 50 years old. So we’re curious to find out what improv can evolve into. What more can it do, onstage and off? So that’s why we’re called IMPROVOLUTION. Improv + Evolution/Revolution. (Get it? Thanks, we know. We like it too!) And sure improv is a form of comedy…but what else can it be?
Basically improv is just kinda awesome. It helps people work together in amazing ways. It helps people think faster on their feet and trust their ideas. It helps people see that they don’t have to have everything figured out to participate fully, have fun, and create. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg…or ice cream sundae…whichever you prefer to visualize.
We are excited about having a community of people from all different backgrounds and disciplines come together and play. Improv has the unique power to catalyze and unleash a new level of creativity within individuals and between people where cooperation, support, positivity, and not-knowing are the foundation.

Great foundational course in that it introduces the concept of improv: history and evolution of the practice and then propels you right into practice. The instructor was compassionate, inclusive and fun. She fostered a support amongst the group so we could relax and have fun. Definitely recommend!

Sarah was a fantastic instructor. She kept the entire class engaged, active, and learning on a Tuesday evening. She has an enviable talent in making the whole group feel comfortable and able to fully participate in a safe space. I learned a lot from my experience with Sarah and I made new friends along the way. I absolutely recommend this course!

So much fun, despite the ridiculous weather, was happy to participate with so many people. It was my first time doing improv and am definitely interested in taking another class. Can definitely see the benefits of being able to think on the spot, stay positive, and not give a **** about "mistakes".

This class was moved the day before and only some people were notified (not me). I wrote course horse an email that night and haven’t heard back from them about a refund.
