What you'll learn in this communications course:
Visual Storytelling is a broad term that encompasses how we tell stories and convey information visually, whether that is through designing a flyer, poster, website, or data visualization, or producing a video. Contemporary computers and mobile devices make it easier than ever for us to tell our stories visually. This course is an introduction for non-designers and people with limited visual storytelling experience to gain a basic understanding of how to more effectively communicate visually.
We will cover the basic principles of visual communications like focus, hierarchy, composition, the law of thirds, and more. We will start to train our eyes to better understand the visual storytelling that surrounds us, and a leave with resources to help us continue our learning.

What You'll Learn:
- Basic principles of visual storytelling for non-designers
- How to develop your own visual storytelling chops after the course
- The vocabulary and understanding necessary to better collaborate with visual storytelling professionals like visual designers, videographers, filmmakers, photographers, etc.
- How to be a better client or manager of visual storytelling professionals
- Professionals, entrepreneurs, creatives, and communications strategists/marketers who want to learn the basic principles and vocabulary of visual storytelling
- Professionals currently working with designers, photographers, and/or videographers looking to learn how to more effectively communicate and collaborate
- Entrepreneurs and “intrapreneurs” with limited time and resources who want to learn how to tell their stories in a more visually compelling way, whether that is through a more effective pitch deck, social media profile, or portfolio website.
Refund Policy
- Refunds less 5% cancellation fee can be issued with cancellation up to 3 business days prior to the start of the event.
- Reschedule also allowed up to 3 business days prior to the start of the event.
If the event that an instructor or the school needs to cancel at the last minute, students will receive a refund less a 5% non-refundable registration fee.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
