Advanced Actors Technique: Script Analysis Subtextual Understanding & Meisner Technique

Note: ATNY will offer Advanced Acting Classes on Saturdays only if demand warrants.    Should we not get the necessary upper teens on Saturdays only, we will ask you to join the regular teens class or move to Sunday advanced acting Classes.  Thank you.

If you are a higher aged teen or early 20’s, you have more life experience than younger teens.  Your level of comprehension and ability to take direction is greater.  So, Teens Camera Classes are divided.  We limit the size of this class to 10, in an effort to focus on 5 scenes in class.

Exclusive to higher-aged teens and younger 20’s (15 & Up), this class offers a deeper insight into truth-centered expression and realism. Primary focus is on the feeling behind the words, the internalization of emotions, and the ability to take direction from a director.  The class also explores instinctive behavior in relation to the actors’ surroundings by identifying sensory ques and grounding oneself. Additional focus is given to consciously manipulating elements of breath, beat, and pace.

To help with those currently auditioning by tapes or in person, we’ll explore the given circumstances, play with the backstory, and ramp up necessary conflict and intensity for your character and the scene.  You’ll learn how to approach the copy in a more interesting way.

*Please note, Sundays are more crowded than Saturdays.  ATNY reserves the right to combine Teens honing and higher aged on Saturdays, if necessary.  Any questions, feel free to give us a call.
