We are holding a special One Day Clay-Cation for Kids on holidays when school is not in session. Join us on a full day adventure of fun and creativity!
Agenda of the Day:
10:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Wheel Throwing at the Studio
Children explore the pottery wheel with guided instruction tailored to their experience level.
12:30 – 2:00 PM: Lunch Break & Creative Exploration
Weather permitting, we will enjoy lunch and fresh air in our studio’s outdoor space or at a nearby park. We may also take a short neighborhood walk to discover inspiration in nature, architecture, textures, and art or design. Parents will be asked to provide authorization for any outings beyond the studio.
2:00 – 4:00 PM: Handbuilding & Surface Design
Back in the studio, children develop functional or sculptural clay projects inspired by the day’s discoveries. Projects and techniques vary from one Clay-cation to the next, giving returning participants fresh opportunities to explore and create.
Participants enjoy a hands-on exploration of clay through wheel throwing, handbuilding, and surface decoration. Projects encourage fine motor skills, spatial awareness, creative planning, and an appreciation of our surroundings.
Projects are thoughtfully adapted to a range of skill levels. Beginners receive step-by-step instruction to build foundational techniques, while experienced students are encouraged to explore more complex forms and decorative approaches.
Parents must email an Waiver Form upon child’s registration in the class, to insure their child’s participation in the program. Kids will not be allowed to attend camp if we have not received this form, so please do not delay!!
