Description

Explore the historic practice of Shaker furniture craftsmanship and seating techniques in this hands-on workshop. The Shakers developed and refined the technique of using sturdy tape on chair and stool seats and backs to ensure both durability and structural integrity. Bring a stool or chair to class, and under expert guidance, you'll weave the seat using premium 100% cotton Shaker-style tape, creating a restored or newly finished seat.

Course Notes:

The tuition fee and materials charge do not include the stool or chair itself; participants must provide their own piece to work on.
Students who have completed the Build A Stool class can add a seat to the stool they constructed in that course. Alternatively, you may bring any stool or chair that requires a new seat.

Refund Policy

Full refunds less a 5% processing fee will be offered for cancellations that occur 32 days or more before a program's registration deadline (if no deadline, the first day of the program).
Cancellations between 31 and 9 days will be offered a 50% refund or credit toward another class.
Cancellations after the registration deadline or within 8 days of the first day of class (whichever comes first) will not be refunded.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
