Class Description

Description

In this class you will build your own tool box with your choice of the joints you learn: dovetail, miter, box, and half-lap joints. Using joinery rather than fasteners provides strength and sturdiness to produce a long-lasting box. You'll then finish with your own details on the ends and the handle--which you can shape with a spokeshave and plane--and install the handle with a through-mortise joint. You will have the opportunity to cut the joints both by machine and by hand to give you a feel for both methods.

Prerequisites: Foundations of Woodworking: Hand Tools and Foundations of Woodworking: Machine Tools, or equivalent experience.
