My experience was overwhelmingly positive. The instructor was very knowledgeable and I learned a lot. I would absolutely recommend and take this course again. -
Shoemaking: Oxford and Laced Boots (All Levels)
It is my pleasure to assist you. First and foremost Emily is a brilliant instructor. This class will be enjoyable for anyone who has some background in sewing, pattern making, or the like. The reward is wonderful to know that you actually produced a pair of boots that you can wear out of the class and show off. My only suggestion would be a shopping trip with Emily to pick out your leather and other supplies. Not only would this be a fun outing (optional of course) but it would save the students a lot of time and money. Leather is very expensive so if you go with an expert she can recommend the proper leather to buy. Another fun part of the outing would be a chance to meet your teammates in a relaxed setting. I would highly recommend this class and am free if anyone has any questions. -

2-day Slides & Mule Making Workshop
This class was a ton of fun & packs a lot in for one day. Lots of choices for materials which are included in the cost of the class - although everyone in class was working from the same pattern, the finished shoes were all unique. The instructor Bonnie was wonderful at explaining the process & very helpful when anyone got stuck. Brooklyn Shoe Space is really cool, with regular members coming in to work while the class was going on - you could tell what a wonderful collaborative space it is, with everyone around enthusiastic about the work and sharing ideas & tips with each other. I have a feeling this won't be my last pair of shoes or my last visit to the space. This is a FULL day of work (and our class ran late as our instructor ensured that everyone left with a finished project) so come prepared for a marathon of making! -
Quick Kicks: 3 Day Sneaker

6-Day Intensive Dream Shoe Making Workshop
This place is awesome! Everyone here is so friendly and helpful. I went here for a week long bootmaking class and left feeling truly inspired (and with an amazing pair of knee high suede boots)! They really let you create whatever you want here, there are no restrictions, which is awesome. The process is a bit daunting at first but Kate was so helpful and was an amazing teacher. -
3-Day Stiletto
The team here is great. Most of the classes are very well-suited to beginners. Some are half-day and one-day and others can run a full week for sneakers, boots, etc. Their new location on Roebling St is much larger than their old location, but it's the same amazing people. Highly recommended! -

2-day Slides & Mule Making Workshop
My instructor Bonnie was the best. I showed up rather early so we chatted while she set up the class. It was very informative and she really helped us make some great shoes, rather than letting my sloppy work slide. It ended up taking us longer than the allotted time but she stayed and I'm glad she did. My shoes turned out beautifully and they look professionally made. I wore them out and they're comfortable too. I hope to take more classes soon! -

Loved the class. Got a lot more than I expected. She even stayed a bit extra to help us out with small things like personalizing our shoe soles to have our initials on them. Super friendly. Really patient. Great space. Had everything we needed. Very fast pace. I have taken a few similar courses but have never gotten so much done in such little time. Love my shoes. -

2-Hour Introduction to Shoe Making
Keiko is an excellent instructor, she has knowledge and experience to help you start your journey on shoemaking path. This first class is intended to give you an idea of specific terminology, tool to measure the size and overall glance on the shoe from inside out. The atmosphere was very friendly and we all had a chance to see how this craft is built- from the "software" part as knowledge and experience to the "hardware " part as all machines, tools and materials needed. Excellent start for me! -

2-Hour Introduction to Shoe Making
Love her class! I learned a lot of info from her. Great class for basics. If you have experience with shoe making, please do not take the class, as most people are still in the the very beginning stages of shoe making. However, 001 is a perfect for you if you want to learn info about parts of a shoe and last. Keiko also give additional info about where to purchase materials and textiles. Priceless information!
