Funsize Workshop Thursdays: Dye, Print, Sew

Thursday nights are sampler size class nights, and open studios, where you get a little taste of a few of our most popular workshops. Grab a ticket and I'll grab some wine, BYOB and bring some friends! Wine and all materials provided. Walkins welcome and you're allowed to just come browse the studio and ask questions on using the space to work in.

Come have a fun night of craft and design! Expect to create one piece in about an hour. All materials provided, but your welcome to bring your own item to decorate. The session begins at 6:30pm and will end at 8:30pm, so no rush getting here or if you have to leave early.

Stencil Silkscreening:

Design a small image to cut out of stencil film and silkscreen your own t-shirt! This is great way to introduce yourself to screenprinting so see if you get hooked and want to learn more! Attendees should come with a design that can be cut with an exacto in a short amount if time, no bigger than 8"x6." White cotton t-shirt provided, but feel free to bring you're own. When you sign up, let us know what sizes you'll need (unisex).

Bundle Dyeing:

A little teaser to our regular Dyeing With Nature workshop, you will create a bandana scarf using all natural materials. Show up and create an organic design with seasonal flowers and forage materials we collect for our own work and the regular series. A total fun night with friends! (Because we need to prep fiber materials, you wouldn't be able to bring your own items for this class)

Block Printing:

Unlike our regular Block Printing on Textiles workshops, you won't get to carve your own quickcarve block, but you can choose from the many we have! Some traditional wooden blocks from Nepal as well as laser cut stamp, and our own hand carve pieces are all for you to use. One bandana per attendee will be provided and well as many ink colors, so no need to show up with materials. However you're more than welcome to bring items, such as tshirts, scarves, tea towels, or natural fabrics (1/2 yard minimum please).

Shibori Dyeing:

We offer 3 levels in our Shibori Dye Technique workshop series. In this mini session choose from 3 designs and create an extra large bandana or furoshiki. Unlike during our regular classes, we do not create an indigo vat, but one will be ready for you to use! We talk about the wonderful world of indigo and what makes it so special and unique. Leave with a one of kind piece made with your own hands. Extra large banana/scarf provided about 30" x 30," but you are welcome to bring your own piece, such as tshirts, scarves, tea towels, or natural fabrics (1/2 yard minimum please).

EVERY THURSDAY.  The four focus subjects repeat with new schedule additions.
