DIY Stop Motion Animation (Online)

Bring your creative vision to life using stop motion animation! This workshop will cover pre-production, production, and post-production with a focus on low budget, DIY handmade animation methods. Execute several short in-class projects practicing a variety of animating techniques and styles. Take the material you shot and add audio elements to make your creations pop. Ta-da!

In this workshop, you will create original work, requiring that you work on your project outside of workshop sessions.

• Animation Styles, Methods and Techniques
• Tools, Gear, and Software
• Set Ups and Lighting
• Basic Editing
• Editing to Music
• Exporting

Prerequisite(s):

• Premiere (Online)
• Camera Fundamentals (Online)

Prerequisite Notes: Above prerequisites or equivalent experience is required. Ability to work independently with a camera and non-linear editing platform is required.

Materials: You will need a computer or other device that can connect to the internet, and support Zoom video conferencing. To work on your project, you will need access to Premiere or another NLE software, and a camera (a smartphone will suffice). Also, you will need materials to animate! This can be every day items you have on hand.
