Class Description

Description

Get started creating 2D designs in AutoCAD with this project-based course. Master drawing with precision, insert symbols and text elements, work with layers and styles, and apply advanced editing methods to refine your designs.

Explore AutoCAD software and master fundamental 2D drawing techniques. First, you will become familiar with the AutoCAD interface and core drawing tools. Next, you will create a basic drawing using these tools and practice making edits and revisions. Finally, you will learn proper printing techniques and how to annotate your drawings for professional presentation. This course emphasizes learning through hands-on practice. Each student receives a dedicated computer workstation where they will create 2D drawings alongside the instructor.

AutoCAD is a professional drawing and design tool used to create vector-based graphics and technical illustrations. It uses geometric primitives like arcs, circles, lines, and text to construct detailed representations of complex objects and systems. AutoCAD is the preferred tool for engineers, construction professionals, and technical designers who develop blueprints, detailed equipment specifications, and other technical documentation. Unlike general graphic design programs such as Photoshop and Sketch, AutoCAD is a specialized technical tool. In AutoCAD drawing work, the emphasis is placed on technical precision and dimensional accuracy rather than artistic or creative expression.

Note: This is a Windows-only course and is not suitable for Mac users.
