Creating Solo Shows: The most powerful thing you have to say onstage comes from your own life experiences. What can you say, from your point of view, that no one else could express as you do? This class will mine your true-life stories to create a narrative solo show that represents your voice onstage. Over the course of six weeks, students will learn to use all the tools and talents at their disposal to bring to life a thematically driven, one-person show. Each class students will collaboratively workshop material as a group, along with intense, personal feedback on honing your voice. Students will culminate with a 10-15 min polished performance of the first part of their show - with the rest of the show workshopped and ready to be performed in entirety. Philip has written many solo shows including his one-man musical Sparkle Hour which has played all over the country, including rave reviews in the NY International Fringe Festival.
