Practical DIT Dailies Workshop with Von Thomas

AbelCine has partnered with the International Colorist Academy (ICA) to offer this advanced color design & DIT workshops aimed at everyone involved in designing the look and style of a project. In this two-day workshop, attendees will learn the skills necessary to work as a DIT, an essential and ever-evolving role on set. The workshop concentrates on the production of dailies, and all the tools, software and skills required to work quickly and efficiently. Along with the latest gear and techniques, the workshop will teach the artistry of the DIT.

Instruction starts with backing up camera files and goes all the way through to handing off a shuttle drive with finished dailies to the editor or post house. Participants will go through all the steps for themselves: from backing up on set, to syncing audio, color correction and applying LUTs, to delivering final files to the editor. Attendees will work hands-on, as if they were on an actual, working set.

To ensure that everyone has plenty of practical experience, class size is limited to 16 people. In a relaxed environment, Von Thomas will demystify the role of the DIT so that participants become more confident in the position.
Computers are provided for each student.
